~A NEW YEAR OF SPECIAL GRACE~

Every year is a special gift from God, but for our Parish this New Year it will be something very special and unique. As is evident to all, the construction of the new church facility is progressing quite rapidly in our very midst and we can truly look forward to exciting times. May our prayer for the New Year be that, with the opening of the new church, there will be a corresponding new spirit in our hearts and pastoral life where we will share our time, talent and treasure in thanksgiving to God for all his blessings.

~CHRISTMAS CHEER CAMPAIGN~

The Parish this year assembled 80 food boxes for those in need as part of the community Christmas Cheer campaign. We thank parishioners who donated food or made monetary donations. We also thank organizers, those who packed boxes and parishioners and helpers who made deliveries. Your contributions of Time, Talent and Treasure helped make Christmas merrier for many families in the community. God Bless.

~CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE~

It's that time of year again! A time of new beginnings…a time when we make new resolutions and review old ones. It's the time when we renew our membership in the Catholic Women's League of Canada! Dues are $14.00. Members can place their money in the collection and write Holy Family CWL dues on the envelope as well as their name. Is this the year you have decided to do something extraordinary? Why not try the Catholic Women's League of Canada, better known at the CWL? For more information you can contact one of our Presidents, Sandra LaPierre 667-2446 or Pauline Pettigrew 667-2170.

~LITTLE ROCK SCRIPTURE SERIES~

The Little Rock Scripture series is returning in early February. This year's study will focus on the Gospel of Luke. Cost will be 15.00 per person. Full details will be published in upcoming bulletins. For more information, please call Voila Corbett 667-3274 or Deacon Howard 667-2523.

~YOUTH MUSIC GROUP~

The youth music group will resume practices Sunday, January 10, 2010 beginning at 6:00pm. New members are always welcomed. The next Family Mass is scheduled for January 31st at the 11:15.

~RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS~

COMMUNION PYX

Do you have a pyx for distributing communion to the sick and shut ins that you are not using? Please take the pyx to church and give it to Howard, Father or Maria.

~BAPTISM PREPARATION~

Parents wanting children baptized should call the Parish Office for Baptism preparation. Please call Maria or Deacon Howard at 667-2523 to book an appointment.

~FAMILY MEMBERS IN HOSPITAL~

It would be appreciated if the Parish Office could be informed of the admittance of family members to our local hospital. This will ensure that all parishioners will receive a visit from the pastoral team. Please note when you are admitting a family member, you must tell the hospital that the person being admitted is Catholic. The admitting clerk is not permitted to ask if you are a member of church.

~2010 OFFERTORY ENVELOPES~

A number offertory envelopes for 2010 have been given out. Please take a moment to pick up your box if you did not receive them. If you have not used envelopes before, and would like to begin using them, there are unassigned boxes available on the table with 2010 marked on the top.

~SCENT FREE~

We are again asking all parishioners to please be conscious of those who are sensitive to strong smells like perfumes, after-shave and deodorants. Please refrain from wearing these scents to church. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

~STORM CANCELLATION POLICY~

Should a storm occur during the weekend, please listen to CKDH Radio for cancellation notices or visit their Web Site at CKDH.net

~A REMINDER ABOUT 2009 INCOME TAX RECEIPTS~

Donations made on January 1, 2010 and thereafter cannot be included in the charitable tax receipts issued for 2009. This includes cheques dated in 2009, or cash in a church envelope dated 2009, but received on January 1, 2010 or later. The law requires these be treated as 2010 donations.

~STEWARDSHIP CORNER~

The three kings in today's Gospel traveled a great distance at considerable cost to offer their richest gifts to the infant Jesus. How far will I go and what will I offer to do homage to this newborn King and Savior?

~A Little Humor~

An elderly couple professed how much they loved children. One day a boy rode his bicycle through the fresh cement of their new driveway. The husband was in a rage. His wife said, “But dear, you always say you love children.” He replied, “I do love them in the abstract, but not in the concrete.”
