~THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY GATHERS TO PRAY~
This Sunday night at 7:00, our Parish is hosting the Annual Prayer Service for Christian Unity. This year the theme is “You are Witnesses” using the whole 24th Chapter of Luke as the Scripture bases. All our choir members are invited to form the choir under the direction of Ruth Nichols. The collection will be for Haiti Disaster Relief Fund and the Catholic Women's League will provide the reception.
~SPECIAL COLLECTION TODAY~
The effects of the tragedy continue and will continue for a long time. May our response today not be lessened because of the passage of time. These contributions will be sent to the Development and Peace Office and, because it qualifies under the stipulated Federal Government regulations, these contributions will be matched dollar for dollar. Please make your cheque payable to Holy Family Parish.
~A DANCE FOR HOPE~
The Knights of Columbus present “A Dance For Hope” in support of Haiti earthquake victims. Dance will be held on Saturday, January 30th at the Knights of Columbus Community Centre from 9:00pm to 1:00am. Music provided by the Drew Moore Band, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief Fund. Cash bar - 19 Years and older. Let’s show them we care.
~RESPONSE TO PYX REQUEST~
As of Friday, we have ten pyx’s returned to the Parish Office. We knew there were a number of them around and are grateful for the return of the ten. If you know of anyone confined to their home, please remind them that Holy Communion can be brought to their residence. Have them or yourself contact the Parish Office and leave the information.
~LITTLE ROCK SCRIPTURE SERIES~
The Little Rock Scripture series will begin Monday, February 1st at 7:15pm and will be repeated Thursday, February 4th beginning at 10:30am in the Church Hall. We will study Luke's Gospel, the gospel being proclaimed during the current Liturgical year. The series will conclude April 18th. Cost per participant will be $15.00 to cover study materials. We use a combination of home study, group discussion and video lectures that has proven to be an effective adult learning style. We invite and encourage participation to attend this scripture study. Please contact Viola Corbett at 667-3274 or Deacon Howard 667-2523 for more information.

12 EFFECTIVE MEASUREMENTS OF PARISHIONER ENGAGEMENT
There are 12 measures of parishioner engagement and over the next few weeks we will offer some reflection on these measurements and how we might integrate these within parish life, committees and organizations. The 2 measures of engagement this week are:
- In my parish, are my Spiritual needs being met?
- Do I have the opportunity to do what I do best in the context of my parish?
In our gatherings, do we offer sufficient opportunity for spiritual reflection? Offering gifts of Time and Talent enables us to do what we do best in the context of parish life. We encourage your reflection on these measures during the coming week. Should you have any suggestions you may forward a note to the Stewardship Council to be included in the developing future pastoral planning for our parish.
~HOLY WEEK PASSION PLAY~
Are you in Grade 6 to 12 and want to be part of our drama production of “Three Hours, One Friday – The Passion Play” for Easter, we are looking for you - We need actors, actresses, artists, carpenters, organizers, seamstresses and more. Do you have a skill or talent you want to share? We need you. Please contact Glenna or Sean O'Quinn at 660-3450 for more information.
~DONATION RECEIPTS ~
Donation receipts for 2009 contributions were given out to a number of parishioners last weekend. Donation receipts are available on the table at the back of the church for those who did not receive their receipt.
~STEWARDSHIP CORNER~
The reading from Paul to the Corinthians, this Sunday, says, “Just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.&rdquo Because as individuals, we collectively make up the members of Christ's body, it becomes the responsibility of each member to ensure that the body's health and well-being remains vibrant and strong.
