~PENTECOST – FOR WHAT DO WE PRAY?~
- That we will be blessed with new life and hope as we enjoy our new parish facility in the next year.
- That our new pastoral approach, Building our Strengths, will continue to spread and bring us new life.
- That our Catechetical Program, functioning next season on our own premises will bring new commitment from our families.
- That whatever comes our way in life we will be given the grace to respond in faith and hope.
~A WONDERFUL CLOSING CELEBRATION~
Last Sunday we marked the closing for this year of our Catechetical Program with a very lively celebration of Eucharist at 11:15 and a joyous time at the reception in the Church Hall. This year we have ended a long time relationship with West Highlands School going back to the original establishment of Nativity of Our Lady Parish and continuing for the past few years with Holy Family Parish. Recognition was made of this as the children assembled last Sunday at the school and a presentation was made to Mr. Kevin Maplebeck, the Principal. Special thanks is offered to Deacon Howard, the Director of our Catechetical Program, the Catechists and the faithful members of the Catechetical Committee, Lynne Bishop, Maria Boudreau, Linda Harrison and Sean O’Quinn.. This was a truly wonderful year.
~TRANSITION COMMITTEE NOTES~
Just a reminder of the Open House in the current church will be held from May 25 to 28th and also on June 1st and 2nd from 3:00 to 7:00pm. These times will allow the general public and parishioners to spend quiet time, take photos or chat with friends. Some parishioners will be on hand to answer any questions about the church and its history. For more information, please call Frank Allen 545-2886 or Chris Manuge 667-2711.

A group from our parish is forming to participate in this annual event. Steubenville Atlantic is for high school youth and also includes those preparing for Confirmation. ~PARISH LEGACY FUND~
To date over 115 people have donated to the Parish Legacy Fund. For a donation of $109.00 a small engraved plaque will be placed on the back of the kneeler portion of the new chairs. Monies raised from this project will be used towards the cost of the new kneeler/chairs. This is a wonderful way to remember loved ones. If you are interested in purchasing a commemorative plaque toward the cost of the new chairs, please contact Maria at the Church Office.
For those interested and not able to pick up a form, a downloadable version is available on our Website. Legacy Fund Form
~STEUBENVILLE CONTEST~
Visit the Steubenville Atlantic Website and get details about inviting a friend to the event at St. FX in Antigonish. You might win a prize if a friend registers for the conference. The event is more comfortable for Catholic youth, however some non-catholics have attended. Keep in mind Steubenville Atlantic has a Christian focus with Roman Catholic flavour. Non Catholics should come from an active faith background and believe in Jesus Christ.

~STEWARDSHIP CORNER~
Considering for a moment, the offering of a good steward (Time, Talent or Treasure) is really returning a gift to God that was His in the beginning. Our God is the source of all gifts that we enjoy and share with others. We are the instruments of God’s generous nature through our giving and sharing of all that is His already. May we rejoice in God’s generosity.
