~ALL SAINTS MONTH OF REMEMBERING~

Today, we have an exception in our ordinary Sunday worship as it is the first day of November, the Feast of All Saints. As announced, we are celebrating “our saints”, family members and friends who have passed from this life. Join the custom of writing the names of those you wish to remember in our Book of Remembrance located in the Sanctuary of the church. Throughout the month of November we remember these names at all the Masses.

~PRIESTS AT ATLANTIC MEETING~

All the priests of the Atlantic provinces are at a meeting in Halifax, Monday through Thursday this week. There will be Mass only on Friday morning.

~ARCHDIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL~

We want to give life to the future generation of Catholics through strong Evangelization, Catechechesis and Formation, Youth Ministry and caring for those in need. Be a beacon of hope and support the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. November 22nd is the last of the two special collections.

~RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS~

~CONFIRMATION CELEBRATION~

Holy Family will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with 6 young people and their families next Sunday at the 11:15 Eucharist. Ashley Bickerton, Joel Boyle, Christopher Connors, Ryan Hunter, Liam Melanson and Gillian Moore will receive this sacrament. Archbishop Mancini has given permission for pastors to confer this sacrament until further notice. This is the first time Confirmation will take place at the Sunday celebration and a reception will follow, hosted by the CWL. Please pray for these six young parishioners as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

~CWL TEA & SALE NOVEMBER 7TH~

Holy Family CWL will be holding their Annual Christmas Tea and Sale in the Church Hall on Saturday, November 7th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Tea and lunch will be served for $4.00. Any donations of crafts, baked goods, or items for the white elephant table would be appreciated. While always a well attended event, the ladies are looking for your support.

~BAPTISM PREPARATION~

Parents wanting children baptized should call the Parish Office to schedule an appointment for Baptism preparation. Please call Maria or Deacon Howard at 667-2523.

~STEWARDSHIP FOCUS~

Our annual focus on Stewardship as a Lifestyle will take place during the month of November. On November 14th and 15th, there will be a ministries fair conducted in the Church Hall after each Mass. There will be displays from each parish committee and organization and representatives will be present to answer questions. Parish commitment cards will be available for parishioners who want to share gifts and talents with our faith community. As a sign of stewardship, various groups will serve tea and coffee as you tour the displays. November 21st and 22nd will feature our annual commitment weekend and during both weekends our homilies will focus on the theme of Stewardship.

~CWL BURSARIES~

Holy Family CWL will be awarding a number of bursaries to post secondary education students. The application forms are available at the back of the church or you may download the application here. Deadline for submission is November 30, 2009

~PARISH PRAYER WALL~

Parishioners are encouraged to place prayer intentions on our prayer wall, located in the Church. Frequent visits to the wall will encourage you to pray for the intentions placed there. Intentions will be mentioned from time to time in our Prayers of the Faithful. On the Feast of Christ the King, intentions will be included as part of a communal prayer ritual at all masses.

~CHRISTMAS/NO TURKEY/HAM!~

Let’s make sure no one in this community has this experience. Please donate a turkey/ham for our Christmas Food Boxes and ensure every family has a traditional Christmas dinner.
