~DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL~
Next Sunday, the final Sunday of the Church's year and celebrated as the Feast of Christ the King, brings to a close our Annual Diocesan Appeal. This is not unique to our Diocese but is a practice in most dioceses throughout North America held at a time of the year that is practical for the directed area. As was mentioned last weekend, we give out of love not justice or excess money I may have. It is the love I have to help preserve and spread the different ministries and good works of the Diocese and I contribute because “I believe the Church has a future”. Please give generously next Sunday.
~A FAITHFUL MEMBER'S FUNERAL~
On Wednesday afternoon, our Parish community celebrated the funeral liturgy of a faithful and long serving parishioner, Lucien Belliveau. Always present each Sunday and willing to serve in whatever way possible. He is a great loss to the Parish. To his extended family our deepest sympathy and prayers.
~ANNUAL HEALING MASS~
The Annual Mass with Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated this Wednesday, November 18th at 11:00am followed by a lunch/dinner served by the CWL in the Church Hall.
~STEWARDSHIP FOCUS~
Our focus on Stewardship as a Lifestyle begins this weekend with a Ministries Fair taking place after all masses in the Church Hall. Coffee & Tea will be available and all parishioners are invited to view the displays. Parish commitment cards will be available for parishioners who want to share gifts and talents with our faith community. November 21 and 22 will feature our annual Commitment Weekend and during both weekends our homilies will focus on the theme of Stewardship.
~PARISH CONSULTATION~
Representatives from Parish Committees and Organizations and others are invited to a dinner and conversation on pastoral planning for Holy Family Parish in the next 3,5 and 7 years. The event is being held next Sunday, November 22nd from 4:00 to 6:30pm in the Church Hall. This conversation concludes a process begun last November to develop a pastoral plan for the parish following the Pillars of Parish Life found in the Forward in Faith document. These are Evangelization, Worship & Liturgy and Justice. There is room for additional participants and if you would like to offer input, please call Glenna O'Quinn at 660-3650 or Frank Allen 545-2886.
~PARISH PRAYER WALL~
Intentions from our Prayer Wall will be taken and used in a symbolic prayer ritual at all the Masses next weekend, The Feast of Christ the King. The ritual expresses our intentions collectively rising to God. As we begin a new Liturgical Year (The First Sunday of Advent), we continue placing prayer intentions on the wall and parishioners are encouraged to visit the wall frequently to view petitions placed there by fellow parishioners.
~ADVENT WREATH MAKING & POTLUCK~
The Parish Life Committee is planning a family Advent Wreath making and potluck supper for Sunday, November 29th from 3:00 to 6:00pm in the Church Hall. The Advent Wreath is the traditional symbol of preparing for the Lord's coming at Christmas. Materials and guidance will be provided for making your wreath and a free-will offering will be taken to offset costs. Bring your favourite recipe to share with others at the potluck supper. If you participated in this event two years ago and still have your plywood form for your wreath, please bring it to the Church to help reduce costs. Mark this date on your calendar.
~JEWELRY SALE AT HOLY FAMILY~
On Saturday, November 21st we will be having a New to You Jewelry Sale – gold, sterling and more. Shop for yourself, or buy a gift for someone. All will be available on display in the Church Hall starting at 9:00am and also after the Masses. Mark this date on your calendar.

~CHRISTMAS/NO TURKEY/HAM!~
Let’s make sure no one in this community has this experience. Please donate a turkey/ham for our Christmas Food Boxes and ensure every family has a traditional Christmas dinner. The cost of a turkey is approximately $20.00. Place your donation in the collection and write “Christmas Turkey/Ham Donation” as well as your name, envelope number on the front of the envelope.
~CHRISTMAS CHEER BOXES~
We are collecting food items for the 90+ cheer boxes in preparation for the distribution of Christmas boxes for those in need. Over several weeks we will be asking for specific food items on a particular weekend. There is a schedule of the foods required to fill each box attached to this week's bulletin. For people who choose to make a donation rather than bringing food each week, please consider the following: 1) Cost of a box including the turkey-$95.00. 2) Cost of turkey-$20.00. Parishioners who choose to donate the cost of a box or a turkey would receive a charitable tax receipt. We ask that you place this schedule on your refrigerator for future reference.
